My grandma's first chat with a home assistant had me in stitches
I set up a smart speaker for my grandma last year. She thought the voice was a real person hiding in the box. She asked it to do her taxes, and it just played music. Now she uses it to remind her when her shows are on. From tax helper to TV reminder, what a trip.

The part about thinking a real person was in the box is so familiar. My grandpa was convinced his car's GPS was silently judging him for taking wrong turns. He'd apologize to it out loud when he went a different way.

People get weird about tech they don't understand. It's just a box with wires and a chip. Calling it haunted is a bit much.
