The ER wait board in St. Mary's is doing more thinking than the staff

Sat with my mom for 5 hours at St. Mary's ER last Tuesday and watched this giant screen showing wait times for every department, updating in real time. It was predicting load at 2pm based on data from the morning rush, and honestly it was scarily accurate. Got me thinking about how AI could do the same thing for actual patient flow, not just the board out front. The nurses were still calling people back on paper lists while the screen was doing way more math than they were. Why are we building million dollar models for marketing when the real bottleneck is a clipboard at a hospital front desk? Has anyone here seen AI actually working inside a hospital admin system, not just the research papers?
