Just realized my fry texture shifts with how I prep spuds
Some friends insist soaking potatoes before air frying stops them from drying out, but others skip it for faster cooking. I tried both methods with wedges last night. The soaked ones were moist inside but took forever, and the dry ones cooked quick but turned out a bit tough. Now I'm torn between saving time or aiming for tenderness. Do you soak your potatoes before air frying, or not?

Used to skip soaking, but a tough batch changed my mind for good.

Isn't it wild how we only learn some stuff the hard way? Life's full of those little "oh now I get it" moments, lol.

Learned my lesson after a bad batch, @luna_williams. I soak for at least eight hours in cold water. It really helps them cook evenly. Saves me time and trouble later.
