Paperless logbooks vs. old school binders: which one actually saves time for you?

I have been using digital logbooks on a tablet for about 8 months now. It is nice not carrying three heavy binders around the hangar. But last week I had to flip through 40 pages of old entries for a corrosion inspection and the tablet search actually took longer than just thumbing through paper. The other mechanic I work with swears by his paper system, says it keeps him honest and he never has battery problems. I can see both sides. For quick entries, digital wins. For digging into history on an older airframe, paper feels faster to me. What do you guys prefer when you are on a tight turnaround? Does your shop push one way or the other?
