Stopped by the hangar at Sheppard AFB last month and saw a crew doing something I'd never tried
I was down in Wichita Falls visiting a buddy who works the flight line there, and I walked past a crew using a borescope on an engine that wasn't even due for inspection yet. They said they started doing quick looks after every 50 hours of flight time because it caught a cracked blade three weeks earlier. Any of you guys doing spot checks like that on your own birds, or is that just asking for extra work?
