Tried a new torque wrench on a Cessna 172's cylinder base nuts
I picked up a digital torque wrench last month, thinking it would be more precise than my old clicker. Used it on an annual, setting it to 420 inch-pounds per the manual. The digital readout showed green, but when I double-checked with my old wrench, it hadn't actually reached torque. Turns out the new one needed a specific calibration routine I missed. Now I always verify with a second tool, digital or not. Anyone else run into calibration issues with newer digital gear?

Guess the manual forgot to mention the "actually works" calibration step.

That "calibration step" is always a secret.
