Went with a hybrid panel on a 22 zone house in Boise and now I am second guessing it
Client had a 22 zone house up in Boise and I had to pick between going all wireless or doing a hybrid setup with a wired keypad at the front door. I went hybrid because the walls were open in the basement and I could run 4 wire sensors on the back windows for cheap. The wireless zones went in fine on the second floor but I keep getting a low battery chirp on the garage door contact after about 3 months. The wired side has been rock solid, zero issues, and I kind of wish I had just run wire to the garage too even though it meant pulling through a crawl space. My supply house quoted me $340 for the extra wire and labor on that run and I passed on it to save the client money. Now I am driving back out there for a free service call, so that savings went out the window. Anyone else doing hybrid setups and how do you decide where to cut over from wireless to wired?
