DAE notice the difference in a faded hood after 6 weeks of the sun versus a garage kept car?
I had two silver Camrys in the shop on the same day last year, both 2017s with the same paint code. One sat outside in a driveway its whole life, the other got parked in a garage every night, and the difference under my light was night and day, the outside one was chalky and flat on top. I polished a test spot on each and the garage car came back to a wet gloss in about 10 passes while the sun baked one needed three rounds and still looked a little milky. What gets me is the clear coat on the outdoor car read about 2.1 mils on my gauge versus 3.4 on the garage one. Curious what you all do with a hood that thin, do you still cut it or just seal it and call it?
