Had a customer yesterday who swore I was ripping him off on a repair estimate
Guy walks into the shop in Nashville and says his buddy can do a bumper swap for half what I quoted. But when I asked if the buddy was gonna blend the paint or just slap it on, he got real quiet. Am I the only one who thinks undercutting on body work just hurts everyone in the long run?

Oh man, that brings back something that happened to my friend Dave last year. He went with the cheaper guy to fix his truck's rear quarter panel, and the guy just slapped on some rattle can paint in his driveway. Two months later the whole thing started bubbling up and flaking off. Dave ended up paying twice what he would have to get it redone properly at a real shop. Undercutting never seems to save anybody in the end.

Told that guy straight up, "You pay for what you get." Showed him photos of two different bumper jobs we'd done, one cheap and one right. He ended up leaving his truck with us for the full blend, customer for life now.
