Found out brake fluid absorbs water way faster than I thought
I read a test from a shop in Houston that showed brake fluid can absorb enough moisture in just 3 months to drop the boiling point by 50 degrees. That surprised me since I always thought it took a year or more. Has anyone else seen that happen on their customers' cars?

I read a Car and Driver test that found a similar drop in boiling point after just a few months.

Yeah but I think people take that Car and Driver test a little too seriously. They were testing a specific fluid in a specific car under specific conditions, not every brake fluid on the market. The drop they saw was from fresh DOT 3 to just below the minimum spec after a few months of hard driving with high moisture. That's a worst case scenario, not what happens in normal daily driving. Most people will never see that kind of drop unless you track your car or live in a very humid place. The real issue is people not bleeding their brakes for years and then blaming the fluid itself.
