Mechanic's hands vs the touchscreen era, my scan tool hates me
Last week I was doing a simple brake job on a 2017 Malibu in Modesto and my Autel tablet kept freezing up. I finally realized it was the brake dust and grease on my fingers. Wiped my hands clean, put on a nitrile glove, and it worked fine. But honestly, has anyone else had to change how they use digital tools just because of what our job does to our skin? My old shop foreman could read a car like a book with just a test light, and I'm over here fighting a touchscreen. What do you guys do about this? Keep a stylus in your pocket or something?

Man, that's exactly the kind of crap they don't warn you about in trade school. Have you tried those cheap capacitive styluses that clip onto your shirt pocket, or do you just end up wiping your fingers on your jeans every five minutes? Seems like the whole industry is moving to screens, but nobody's figured out how to make them work with actual grease and grime.
