Got a $1,400 repair bill in one day and that is when the warranty thing clicked
Monday morning my transmission slipped on the highway outside Toledo and the shop quoted me $1,400 to fix it. I had skipped the extended warranty two years ago to save $30 a month, so that whole thing came out of my pocket. Then my neighbor mentioned his water pump died the same week and his plan covered all of it, minus a $100 deductible. I always figured those plans were junk mail scams, but now I am doing the math on what I actually lost. Anyone here bought one after getting burned and did it ever pay off?
