I thought the dealership's extended warranty pitch was a total scam until my transmission went at 71,000 miles
Back in 2019 I sat in a dealership in Tulsa and turned down the extended warranty twice because everyone online said they were junk. My wife talked me into the middle plan anyway, around $1,800, and I grumbled about it for two years. Then last spring my transmission started slipping on the highway and the shop quoted me $4,200 to rebuild it. The plan covered all but a $100 deductible, and the whole thing took one phone call. Now I honestly don't know what to think, was I just lucky or are these plans better than people say?
