TIL I was checking static wicks by hand for 3 yrs, now I use a 4 dollar neon tester from Harbor Freight
I used to rub my thumb down every wick on a 737 tail during walkarounds at Midway and guess if the bonding was shot, but a lead tech showed me last month that a cheap neon bulb lights up when you touch it to a good wick and stays dark on a bad one, so has anyone else got a hack like this that makes you feel dumb for not knowing sooner?
