I thought a $40 motion light was a scam until a guy in my alley proved otherwise
I bought a cheap $15 solar light for my back gate about 6 months ago and it died on me 3 times in 2 months. A neighbor saw me messing with it one night and told me to get a wired motion light instead, said the cheap ones never last through winter here in Minneapolis. I finally ran 40 feet of cable out to the shed and put in a $40 motion light, and it's been working nonstop since March. The cheap one flickered and the motion sensor barely picked up my dog, but this one catches him from 25 feet away. Has anyone else made the switch from solar to wired, or found a solar model that actually holds up?
