My little shed studio finally hit 10,000 hours of use and the number floored me
I keep a tiny notebook on the shelf in my backyard studio and I mark down every session, mostly so I remember what I changed or moved around. Last night I flipped to the back page and added it all up, and the total came to 10,412 hours since I built the place in my yard in Spring Hill three years ago. What got me is that I guessed maybe 5,000, so I was off by half. Ten thousand hours is a real thing in your head, like some magic line where you are supposed to be good at something. But here is the funny part, most of those hours were me sweeping sawdust, running an extension cord, or sitting on a milk crate waiting for glue to dry. Only a small slice was actual music or building. Still, it kind of makes sense why my hands know where everything is without looking now. Has anyone else kept a rough log like this, and did the total surprise you or did it match what you figured?
