Why does nobody mention the neighbor who saved my shed build with one sentence?
I was framing out my 10x12 backyard studio in Aurora last month and getting nowhere with my corner posts, just stalling out for a week straight. My neighbor Dale leaned over the fence, looked at my layout for a second, and said "your first corner isn't square, so nothing after it will be either." He handed me his old 3-4-5 trick with a tape and a pencil, and my walls finally lined up that same afternoon. How do you all check for square before you commit to framing, or is it just trust and a tape measure?
Sounds like Dale just gave you a basic tip that any framer already knows, not some miracle save. Checking for square with the 3-4-5 method takes like two minutes at each corner, so stalling for a week on posts is more of a you problem than a mystery nobody talks about. Plenty of guys just eyeball it and get close enough for a shed, honestly.
