Question about the time I shipped a logo so thin it vanished on a business card
Two years ago a friend opened a coffee cart in Boise and asked me to do her logo for free, and I got way too clever with a hairline swirl that looked great blown up on my screen. She picked up 500 cards from the printer and the swirl just wasn't there, it printed as a faint gray smudge because my stroke was thinner than what the press could hold at that size. I felt sick about it, so I redrew the mark with a fat little bean shape she loved and ate the $180 reprint myself since she was just starting out. Now I tape every logo onto a real card and squint at it from arm's length before it goes anywhere. What's the smallest size you test your marks at before calling them done?
