Rant: I used to defend those confusing parking lot arrows, then I tried to leave a Target in Columbus
I always figured weird parking lot layouts were just me being dumb, and I'd stick up for them when my wife complained. Then on Saturday I spent 11 minutes trying to get out of the lot at the Target off Olentangy River Road in Columbus. The exit arrows point you into the entrance lane, so cars coming in and cars going out share the same strip of pavement, and I watched two people nearly hit head on. The painted arrows are half worn off and one sign is mounted facing the wrong way, so you only see it if you back up. A guy in a silver van rolled down his window and said he's seen three fender benders there since spring. I sat there gripping my wheel thinking about all the times I told people to just read the signs. Turns out a lot can look fine on paper and turn into a mess once real cars show up. Does anyone know who you even call to report this stuff, the city or the store?
