My dentist handed me a root canal consent form typed in Papyrus and I almost walked out
Last Tuesday I sat in a chair at a clinic in Boise waiting for a root canal and the front desk gave me a consent form printed in Papyrus. The whole thing was about pulling nerves out of my jaw and it looked like a menu at a smoothie place. I pointed it out to the assistant and she laughed and said the office manager picked it in 2011 because it felt "warm." I signed anyway, but my hands were shaking for two reasons. What is the worst font you have seen on a form you actually had to sign?
Asked for a plain text version when a clinic hit me with Comic Sans on a surgery waiver, and they actually printed a new one without any fuss. Most front desks just grab whatever template the office manager saved years ago, so speaking up costs you nothing and saves your sanity. Worst I ever signed was a loan paper in some curly script that made the dollar amounts look like decoration.
