Update: the self checkout at my Kroger froze on a $7.50 order and I just stood there like a dummy
Last Tuesday I ran into Kroger on West Broad in Columbus for like five things, and the self checkout machine froze after scanning my milk. The screen said "see attendant" in tiny gray letters, so I waved at the guy running six lanes at once. He said "yeah it does that, just hit the red button," which restarted the whole thing and made me rescan everything. It finally went through after 10 minutes, and now I just use the regular lane if I'm buying more than three things. Why do these machines still act up when they've been around for like 15 years?
