Read a forum post about bread scoring and it clicked

Someone on here last week mentioned using a wet lame for scoring sourdough, so I tried it on my Saturday bake after 4 dry runs that all dragged. The cuts opened up way cleaner and the ear actually popped for once. Has anyone else found that a damp blade makes that much difference or was it just my dough being in a better spot?
