Got a great lesson on beard lines from a shop in Lisbon

I stopped for a trim while visiting Lisbon last month. The barber there taught me a simple hand position that gives a sharper line every time. What travel spots have you found with cool barber tricks?

Lisbon beard lines? I'd probably end up with a zigzag.

In Bangkok, my friend learned a barber trick for a straight beard line using just a razor and his free hand. The barber showed him how to pull the skin taut from the ear down to the chin in one smooth motion. @jenny_campbell might skip the zigzag worry with that method... my friend even practiced on a banana first, like the barber said. Now he gets a sharp line every morning without thinking.

My last attempt at a straight beard line in my own bathroom looked like a topographical map of the Alps. Tbh, I need a professional just to fix the basic shape, let alone learn a fancy hand position. The only travel trick I picked up was in Rome, where a barber used so much talc I sneezed for an hour and looked like a ghost. Honestly, I should probably just stick to electric clippers and a prayer.
