Shoutout to that $350 clipper I almost returned

Picked up a Wahl 5-Star Cordless last fall after my old corded one died mid-fade on a client in Reno. First week I hated it, thought the battery was junk and the blade ran hot. Gave it another shot after watching a sharpening tutorial and now it's all I use, that thing saves me like 20 minutes per cut. Anyone else had a tool they nearly tossed that ended up being a workhorse?
