Walked into a spot in Bakersfield and the owner had 9 chairs lined up but only 2 mirrors
Stopped by a place on Chester Ave while visiting my brother and noticed the setup right away, half the chairs faced a blank wall. The owner said he does mostly quick cuts for oil field guys who don't care about looking in a mirror anyway. Any of you ever work a chair with no mirror in front of it, or is that just a California thing?
You ever try cutting hair while looking at the back of somebody's head the whole time? It messes with your brain after a while. My buddy ran a two chair shop off Rosedale and his second chair faced a window, guys would just stare at the parking lot. Quick cuts for oil field hands actually makes sense though, those dudes roll in with hard hats and grease and want in and out. Owner probably saves money not hanging mirrors and nobody complains. Weird setup but smart in its own cheap way.
