Thinking I could skip the chain whip for a cassette swap was my dumbest move
Stripping the lockring threads meant a whole new hub for me.

What did the shop say about the hub? I mean, stripping threads is basically a death sentence for those parts.

I used to believe a stripped hub was totally done for. A good shop with the right tools can sometimes save them now though. It really depends on how bad the damage is.

They might try a heli-coil, but that's just a fancy band-aid. A real fix means a whole new hub.
