Hit 100 bottle openers sold and realized I'd been undercharging by $6 each
I started keeping a tally on my shop wall for every bottle opener I forge, mostly just to see how many I could crank out in a month. Last Friday I marked number 100 and did the math on what each one actually costs me in coal and steel, and it came out to $6 more per piece than my price covers. I sell them at the flea market in Springfield for $18 and thought that was fair, but now I'm not so sure. Should I raise the price on the next batch or just make them simpler to bring the cost down? Curious how you all price small stuff like this.
