My first forge weld blistered because I grabbed the wrong flux at the shop in Boise
I was at a buddy's shop in Boise on a Saturday trying my first billet weld and grabbed the borax that had clumped up from sitting open all winter. The flux didn't stick right, the layers sheared apart at the anvil, and I ended up with a 4 inch piece of scrap instead of a blade blank. Does anyone else keep their flux in a sealed jar, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?
