That conversation with my neighbor about game weights changed how I plan game nights
Last Thursday my neighbor Dave, who only plays party games, asked why my shelf was all worker placement and dice games. He said my game nights looked like homework from where he was sitting. I spent 20 minutes defending my favorites before realizing he had a point about my lighter options being buried at the bottom. Now I start every new game night with something under a 2.0 weight rating to warm people up, and my group has grown from 4 regulars to 7 in three weeks. Has anyone else adjusted their whole collection around what casual players say first?
Did you end up moving the heavy stuff to a different shelf or just putting the light games on top? I did something like that after my brother in law kept falling asleep during setup. Now the first game is always something you can explain in two minutes and it made a huge difference.
