Tried a Miller 350P against a Lincoln Power MIG 256 last week on some 3/8 plate

I've been running a Lincoln 256 for years and thought it was fine until I borrowed my buddy's Miller 350P for a job in Tulsa. The arc was way smoother on the Miller and I could actually see my puddle better with the pulse settings. I got a 25% faster travel speed on the Miller, no joke. Has anyone else made a switch between these two and noticed a big difference?

Wait, you got a full 25% faster? I had the SAME experience switching from a Lincoln 256 to a Miller 350P on some 3/8 plate last fall. My travel speed jumped way up too, probably closer to 20% for me but still HUGE. The puddle control on the Miller is just night and day better for some reason, especially on that thicker stuff where the Lincoln always felt like it was struggling a bit.

25 percent faster travel speed? Man, that's wild. I've been running a Lincoln 256 for about six years now in my little shop, and I always figured it was just me being slow. Hearing you got a full quarter bump on speed makes me wonder if I'm leaving a lot on the table with my old machine. That's a serious difference in time and money on a bigger job for sure. I gotta say, that kinda throws my whole setup into question now.
