Watched a 30 foot waterwall section go from leaking to bone dry in 6 hours
We had a tube leak on unit 2 up in Fargo last week, a pinhole in a waterwall section right at the burner line. The operator brought the load down to 40 percent and we threw a clamp on it just to get through shift change. Then the day crew cut out the whole 30 foot section and welded in a new panel with a mirror finish on the inside. I walked by the same spot after the hydro test and it was so dry I could hear my boots squeak on the grating. Any of you ever fix a leak in one spot just to find three more hiding behind the refractory?
