Just realized our book club picking a whole trilogy at once killed the debate
Our club read all three books of a trilogy back to back in February and March, and by the third meeting nobody had anything to say. We spent the whole time going 'yeah I liked it' and 'the ending was fine' for about 40 minutes. When we did one book at a time back in the fall, we argued for an hour and a half about a single chapter. I think having the next book ready made everyone save their thoughts instead of saying them out loud. So now we're going back to one book a meeting, no exceptions. Has this happened to your group, or do you actually like reading a whole series together?
