That $60 audiobook on pacing saved my book club last month
Our group spent 3 meetings arguing over whether the slow middle of 'The Forest of Glass' was intentional or just bad editing. I finally dropped $60 on a craft audiobook about narrative tension and applied its pacing tips to our discussion. Turns out the author did it on purpose, but half our members still hated it, and the other half felt validated. Anyone else ever paid for a resource just to settle a book club fight, or did we get scammed by the publishing industry?

My neighbor Karen spent $45 on a giant print edition of Moby Dick just to prove to her husband that the whale was actually a symbol, not a real whale. They got into a shouting match at their own dinner party about it. Now she just says "sperm whale" at him randomly and walks away.
