Warning: my club picked a 700 page book and only 2 people finished it
Our book club in Sacramento voted on a 700 page history book for our March pick, and I was the one who pushed for it. At the meeting on Tuesday, only 2 of the 9 of us had made it past page 200, so the talk died after 15 minutes and we just ate chips. I thought a big book would give us more to dig into, but nobody wanted to admit they quit. Now I'm wondering if we should set a page cap before voting next time. How does your group handle it when a pick is too long?
