Am I the only one who switched to a coptic stitch after my book fell apart at a coffee shop?
I was sitting at the Daily Grind in Omaha last month showing a friend my first handmade journal, and when I opened it flat, the whole spine cracked and pages dropped onto the table. I had used a simple case binding on it, and I guess the glue did not hold like I hoped. A woman at the next table said she used to do book repair and told me to try a coptic stitch for anything that needs to lie flat. I reworked that same book with coptic and it has held up great for three months now. What stitch do you all use for journals that get opened all the way?
