Greenhouse volunteer work taught me more than my 2 years of books
Started volunteering at the local botanic garden's greenhouse last spring and got schooled fast. The head grower, Susan, showed me how to read leaf color for nutrient issues, something no textbook really captured for me. Now when I spot a slight yellowing on my own houseplants, I know to check pH first instead of just watering more. Does anyone else find hands-on spots like community gardens teach them faster than formal study?
