Finally figured out how to make cheap chicken taste amazing
I always bought the big packs of chicken thighs because they're only $2.99 a pound at my local Food Fair, but they'd come out dry and bland. I tried brining them in just salt water for 3 hours before cooking, and it was a total game changer. The meat stayed super juicy and had way more flavor even with simple seasoning. Has anyone else tried brining their budget cuts of meat?

Did you try adding a little sugar to your brine too?

Honestly, I skip the brine entirely. @kelly31, even with sugar, it's just too much fuss for a weeknight. I find a dry rub and cooking them skin-side down in a hot pan gives way better flavor and crispy skin without the extra step.
