I finally stopped buying lunch at work after my kid asked me a question in the car
My 9 year old asked me last month why I buy a $9 sandwich every day when we make them at home for like a buck. I did the math and that was almost $200 a month just on lunch, which blew my mind. So I started packing leftovers on Sunday nights, rice and beans, whatever chili was in the pot, and I have not bought a single lunch in 5 weeks. My grocery bill went up maybe $15 a week but I am saving way more than that. What are your go to cheap lunches that actually keep you full till dinner?
Been there with the math shock, my kid did the same thing to me over coffee runs. Big pots of chili or chicken soup on Sunday carried me through most of the week, and a rotisserie chicken stretched into wraps and rice bowls for a few days. Boiled eggs, apples, and peanuts on the side keep me from crashing before dinner.
