My bag of rice split open right before dinner

I was in my kitchen last night trying to make a big pot of beans and rice, and my 5 pound bag of rice just ripped down the side. Rice went everywhere, all over the floor and counter. I didn't want to waste it, so I spent like 20 minutes carefully scooping it all into a big bowl, then washed it really well before cooking. It turned out fine in the end, but man, what a mess lol. Has anyone else had a kitchen disaster with a staple ingredient like that?

My friend Sam had a whole 10 pound bag of flour explode in her pantry once. It looked like a blizzard hit her kitchen.

I mean, it's just rice, right? You cleaned it up and it was fine. I've definitely had worse messes with stuff like olive oil or a broken jar of pasta sauce. At least dry rice doesn't stain anything.
