My grocery bill in Denver went from $120 a week to $75 after I stopped buying lunch meat

I used to grab a pack of sliced turkey or ham every single trip, thinking it was a cheap protein. Over the last two months, I switched to making a big pot of shredded chicken in my slow cooker on Sundays. I use it for sandwiches, salads, and wraps all week, and the savings are crazy. Anyone else find one simple swap that cut their food costs way down?

Yeah, that's a huge drop, and @wren301 has a great point about adding beans too.

Have you tried adding beans or lentils to stretch that chicken even further?
