Question about my slow cooker failing right before a big batch of beans
My 8-year-old Crock-Pot's heating element quit overnight in Phoenix, so I had to finish the 2-pound bag of pinto beans on the stovetop, which spiked my gas bill by about $15 last Tuesday.

It's wild how a small appliance breaking can throw off your whole budget like that. I've started noticing everything seems built to fail right after the warranty ends these days. My old toaster lasted a decade but the new one barely made it two years. Makes you wonder if they plan it that way.
