Rant: my grocery bill jumped $60 in one trip because I shopped hungry at 6pm
So two weeks ago I ran into Kroger after work with an empty stomach and zero list, and walked out $187 lighter for basically one bag of stuff. I grabbed frozen shrimp, a fancy jar of pesto, and those little charcuterie meats that cost like $9 for four slices. Got home, did the math, and realized I could have made three nights of bean and rice bowls for a third of that. Now I eat a peanut butter sandwich before I shop and stick to the list, but I still feel dumb about the pesto. What is your worst impulse buy at the store when you go in hungry?
