A bus driver in Medellin refused my $2 fare and pointed at my water bottle instead
I was riding the Metro cable up to Santo Domingo about 2 years ago and tried to pay the fare in coins, and the driver just shook his head and tapped the sticker on the window that said no outside drinks. I had no idea the cable cars fine you for bringing open containers on during rush hour, and he let me off with a warning and told me to finish it before the next stop. Cost me nothing but a few awkward seconds. Now I always chug whatever I'm carrying before I get on transit anywhere. Did anyone else get hit with a weird transit rule while traveling cheap?
