I was driving from Dallas to Albuquerque and pulled into a Love's outside Amarillo around 11pm because every motel within 40 miles was booked or wanted $85 for a room that smelled like wet dog. I slept in the back of my hatchback with a $12 sunshade and a sleeping bag, and honestly I woke up more rested than I did at the last motel I paid for. Does anyone else think truck stop showers and a car nap beat a cheap motel room, or did I just get lucky that night?
