Picked the $60 rice cooker over the $180 one at H Mart and my grocery bill dropped $40 a month
I stood in the H Mart aisle for 15 minutes last month comparing a $60 Aroma cooker to a $180 Zojirushi. I went cheap because I mostly just make rice and oatmeal anyway. Turns out I eat out way less now since rice plus eggs is a cheap dinner, and my food spending dropped about $40 a month. Has anyone else noticed a small kitchen buy change their budget more than they expected?
Same thing happened to me but with a $25 cast iron pan. Bought it at a flea market just to cook eggs and suddenly I'm making breakfast at home every single day instead of grabbing a $7 sandwich on the way to work. That's like $150 a month I'm not spending anymore and the pan will outlive me. My wife laughs because I baby that thing like it's a pet, wiping it down with oil every night. Funny how the cheap stuff is what actually sticks.
