Pro tip: I thought meal planning was pointless until my grocery bill dropped
I always saw meal planning as something for super organized people, not for me. My method was to wing it at the store and figure dinners out later. That led to buying random stuff and too many takeout nights. Then I got tired of throwing away spoiled food and watching my money vanish. I decided to give planning a shot for just two weeks to see what would happen. I sat down with some paper and picked simple recipes we already liked. Sticking to that list cut my grocery spending by almost forty bucks the first week. Now I would not go back, because that small bit of time on Sunday keeps my whole food budget in check.

Wait, forty bucks in just the first week? That's actually insane. I figured maybe you'd save like ten or fifteen. Makes me wonder how much I'm throwing away by just grabbing whatever looks good.

Forty bucks makes sense, @the_tyler, when you track every coffee.
