Stood in line at the Portland DMV and finally saw the cash

I was renewing my truck plates and the lady said the fee was $86... I pulled out my card but she said they only take cash or check. I had to run to the ATM and pay a $3 fee, which made me start putting $100 cash in my glove box just for stuff like that. Anyone else keep a small emergency cash fund for random fees?
