Found my old index system from 2014 and it beat my current setup

Cleaned out my closet last Sunday and found my first bullet journal from back in 2014. I was using a simple index at the front and I completely ditched it over time for page numbers and a million washi tabs. Looking back, that old index system was way easier to flip through. I tried to recreate it this week with my current journal and it actually works better, saves me like 10 minutes a day hunting for stuff. Anyone else go backwards to a dumber system and have it click again?
