Shoutout to the lady at the Pasadena craft store who called my bujo setup a "scrapbook for people who like lists"
I was standing in the paper aisle at Blick in Pasadena last week picking up a $6 dot grid pad when this woman next to me glanced at my open journal and said, "oh, so it's like a scrapbook for people who like lists." I laughed it off, but walking back to my car I actually felt weird about it, because she was kind of right about how I'd been using mine. I'd been gluing in stickers, washi tape, movie tickets, the works, and my actual daily logs hadn't been touched in 9 days. The whole reason I started a bullet journal was to track habits and stop forgetting my sister's birthday, and somehow I turned it into an art project that eats 40 minutes a night. So I stripped it down the next day: one pen, two pages for the week, no glue sticks. My habit tracker is back and my sleep log actually has real numbers in it. Curious if other folks here have had to pull back from the decorating side, and where you draw the line between fun and getting nothing done?
