Lost a whole lamb rack to a dull saw, need advice

Had a rough Saturday at the shop on Selby Ave. I was breaking down a 45 pound hog and my saw just wouldnt track, ended up mangling a nice pork belly and had to turn it into grind. Swapped in a new blade after two hours of frustration, but by then I was behind on three orders. Anyone else deal with blade tension issues on older band saws, or am I just bad at setting them up?
